Talent Camp 2026: From Design Data to a Real Piece of Furniture

From 13 to 17 July 2026, the CAD+T headquarters in Ansfelden became a week-long training camp for the furniture industry of tomorrow. Around 35 pupils, apprentices and students from across the German-speaking countries traded part of their summer holidays for Talent Camp 2026 and took a deep dive into the CAD+T software.
Three Days, Four Modules, Full Speed
Over three intensive training days, the participants worked through four modules: from the basics of planning, through engineering, to visualisation and the CAM Interface.
The CAD+T Challenge
Day four belonged to the CAD+T Challenge. The task: to engineer a unique designer piece of furniture created especially for Talent Camp and to export all the data needed for production.
From Screen to Workshop
Straight afterwards came the emotional high point of the week: the Challenge piece was manufactured live at Tischlerei Scheschy in Neufelden. The participants watched up close as their design data turned, cut by cut, into a real piece of furniture, from the very first touchpoint to assembling it together.
Visiting SCM Österreich
Day five took the group to the brand-new SCM Österreich site for a close-up machine demo. This day belonged to the partners, without whom an event of this size would not be possible. The main sponsors introduced themselves with talks and insights into their projects.
- Main sponsors 2026: Tischlerei Scheschy, HottScan, SCM Österreich and vion solutions
- Long-standing supporters: Julius Blum, Lamello, HP, GRASS and Paul Ott
The Award Ceremony
The week closed with a well-deserved award ceremony. For the first time in Talent Camp history, there were two third places.
- 1st place: Paul Doppelreiter (Hoizzeit GmbH & Co KG)
- 2nd place: Michaela Gmeiner (Alfred Feuerstein GmbH)
- 3rd place: Jakob Schwab (Tischlerei Lehner) and Sandro Münzer (HTL Villach)
Participants, trainers and sponsors rounded off the week together with a barbecue.
Save the Date: Talent Camp 2027
With Talent Camp, CAD+T once again brings together young talent, software and hands-on practice, and shows how much momentum digital transformation can gain in joinery and cabinetmaking. The next Talent Camp takes place from 12 to 16 July 2027, and registration is already open at the early-bird rate.
